You don’t have to be particularly observant to notice that Liberty Fox Technologies has a new look; a new website, and a new logo. What you might not notice, at least not yet, is the collection of new powerhouse resources at our fingertips! In April 2020, we became a proud member of the Pixel Health family of companies, a unique technology ecosystem dedicated to developing and implementing the processes and technologies that make the delivery of healthcare better for patients and providers alike.
In addition to LFT, the ecosystem also consists of VertitechIT (a leading healthcare IT engineering and consulting firm to health systems across the country), Nectar Strategic Consulting (dedicated to the processes associated with healthcare digital transformation), baytechIT (a growing managed services provider), and akiro (a team of legal and financial wizards focused on the “business of healthcare”).
As you’ll see in this interview with our founder Bill Evans, the new ownership group gives us the opportunity to grow in some very interesting directions and expand our presence in the healthcare software application industry.
Q: What was the impetus behind the merger with Pixel Health?
Bill Evans: Through LFT, I’m always looking for good referral partners, people that can pass business back and forth and businesses that complement our skillset. So I was referred to Pixel Health and in our initial conversations and we realized we had so much in common as far as our approach and way of serving our customers. As things progressed, we realized that this could be more than just sharing busines leads but more of a referral agreement on steroids. And so we decided to take that relationship to the next level.
Q: What appealed to you about the Pixel Health family of companies?
BE: First and foremost was the focus on the healthcare sector, something we had been exploring for years but didn’t necessarily consider a mainstay of our business. We’ve had at least one active healthcare client relationship every year for the last decade. We’re not just software developers, we actually understand healthcare and the conversations with Pixel Health made us realize we should be telling that story.
Q: Does this make LFT more unique, taking it beyond just being a software application development firm?
BE: In our industry, there are a ton of software development firms but the usual mentality is “give me a project, I’ll give you a price, and if the price is right, let’s go do it.” Traditionally, it’s like shopping for a mechanic. But I think many clients don’t know exactly what they want. They know they have a pain, they have an idea of what they want, but they’re not sure if it’s the right idea. We ask things like, “why are you doing this in the first place, have you considered your return on investment, and are you positive this solution will actually solve your problem.” These are the same kinds of questions the Pixel Health family of companies is asking. Having the power of a team behind us is a real advantage. Together we have combined capabilities totaling 70 to 100 years of experience whether it’s networking, engineering, managed services, revenue cycle and legal compliance, or the focus on the clinical process. That’s a powerful combination.
Q: What role do you see LFT filling within the Pixel Health ecosystem?
BE: We have the ability to create. Pixel Health is a phenomenal team, building skyscrapers throughout the healthcare industry. They pioneered the application of hyperconverged architecture and the use of software-defined methodologies in healthcare and are the leading HIMSS Analytics Infrastructure Adoption Model (INFRAM) consultants in the world. They’re full of ideas. We’re the “digital steelworkers” that can help build it.
Q: As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to grip the country, how will LFT’s product offerings change to react to marketplace demand?
BE: It’s all about furthering the digitization of the healthcare industry and COVID has taught us that so much of the future is in digital technologies like telemedicine. The healthcare industry tends to lag behind others when it comes to technology and this pandemic has created the impetus for bringing the healthcare technology stack up to those of other industries. So much of that will require the leveraging of software to improve the delivery of care. We think Liberty Fox and our new Pixel Health partners are uniquely poised to provide those services.
While our healthcare offerings will certainly expand as our new ownership arrangement takes hold, we will continue our work in other industries in areas like CRM, blockchain, business intelligence, SaaS, supply chain management, and video streaming. Please call on us as your needs develop.
We hope you and yours are remaining safe during the current crisis. Our team is busy (both here in the office and from our remote locations) and look forward to working with you soon.
